Andy DuCett is from Winona, MN and received his M.F.A. from the University of Illinois. He teaches at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design as Visiting Faculty in the M.F.A. program. His work has been shown around the country, including galleries and museums in New York City, Chicago, San Francisco, and Honolulu, as well as many Twin Cities locations. He has been featured by Artforum, New American Paintings, The Daily Beast, Art Pulse Magazine, and The Huffington Post, as well as publications in Toronto, Berlin, Tokyo, and London. He has been commissioned to make work for the Walker Art Center, and is part of the permanent collections of the Minneapolis Institute of Art and Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art. He is listed on the curated registry of the Drawing Center in New York City, and has strong opinions about pickles. He recently completed an international residency program in Edinburgh, Scotland, and was curated into the exhibition “State of the Art” at Crystal Bridges in 2014. He has an upcoming installation at The Philbrook Museum of Art in Tulsa, OK in late 2017, and is working on collaborations with Chris Kallmyer for Eaux Claires in June.
